On the Importance of Telling Our Stories

I never thought I had much of a story to tell, or that my story mattered much to anyone else.  As I've begun to tell parts of it though, here and recently at the "Something Beautiful" podcast as well, the reaction I've seen has been, well, surprising to say the least.  The level of engagement I've seen has made me realize one simple fact: we never know when our story is exactly what someone else needs to hear.

So, I'm telling a good portion of my story, but I'm taking the easy way out.  Here are the two segments I did with @jdblundell over at Something Beautiful.  They do total about an hour and a half, and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to listen to my nasally voice for that long, but we cover a lot of interesting ground.  So, if you were ever interested in the story of how a guy goes from warfighter to peacemaker (a process still very much in progress), here you go.
